Bio
Guitarist and composer Palle Schultz have finally decided to release his catalog of instrumental songs. Until now the material has been kept pretty much a secret, but todays opportunity to distribute recorded material using the world wide web made Palle (pronounced as ‘Pallet’ just without the t) decide to give it a go.The album was recorded between 1999 and 2006, a relatively long time span that ensures a diversity that makes this album worth the while.
The title ‘Turning Points’ refers to the many struggles that Palle Schultz went through when the material was recorded. Each and every song reflects a given situation Palle had to face from time to time during the last 7 years. 7 years that friends and family look back at with disbelief realizing the fact that Murphy’s law is no myth.
Although this album mainly is a guitar based musical experience, it isn’t the usual shredding extravaganza one could expect from a technical skilled player. But leans its efforts on strong emotional modes and soundtrack like paintings, that works very well for a listener that want’s to use the music to enhance a certain state of emotion. It’s all in there, sadness, despair, humor, anger, energy and so forth.

Palle Schultz have been part of a number of bands through the years, in 1993 his band at the time was nominated in 5 categories at the Danish Grammy Award show and won the ‘Best new act’ award. The band and Palle got rave reviews from the danish press and toured extensively until the band disintegrated in 1993.
Today his main musical focus lies with his present band ‘Sophies’. A band that currently works hard to make it in the industry. (www.sophies.dk)

The Recordings
The lonely experienceAll the songs was recorded at my own studio, which pretty much are a few really good mikes, an audio interface and a Mac computer But keeping the technology at a bare minimum makes one work harder on making a good sound. And therefore you often achieve a much better sound than you usually do in a bigger pro studio, where great equipment tends to lazy people up a bit.
When I need space for recording drums, I usually do it at at Antfarm Studios owned by renowned producer Tue Madsen. But for this project, everything was done at my private surroundings using what was at hand, ranging from an old beat up Lombard laptop to a Dual G5 desktop Mac, mainly using Logic as recording software.
Apart from the fact that all the recordings was done in complete solitude, there are still people to thank. First and foremost my family for allowing me the physical and mental space. Heine Lennart and Allan Hansen for true inspiration, Tue Madsen and Lulu Babagallo, Sofie Christensen, Mikkel Ib and Paw Andersen for help when needed and Jan Benchke of EMMA electronic.
Sincerely
Palle Schultz
